Funds designated for special purposes.

Ed Beck Evangelism Fund (Est. 1991) Memorial to Ed Beck
To interpret the term “evangelism” broadly as reaching out to spread the Good News of Christ and His Church. It is not intended to place rigid restrictions on use of income generated by this fund.

Philip E.  Peteler Fund (Est. 1990) Memorial to Philip E. Peteler
(1995 name changed to “Philip E. and Jean C. Peteler Music Fund”)
(2009 name changed to "Peteler/Van Beek Music Fund")

Income to be used annually for special music programs. Funds would be available for special needs of music committee of Valley Community Presbyterian Church.

Coffin Family Bell Choir Fund (Est. 1992) Gift from Helen Coffin

o use income from fund for bell choir purposes upon written request from the Director of the Bell choir. Income to be available for supplies, repairs, purchases of additional equipment or expenses incurred by Director for travel and/or conferences. In the event VCPC no longer has a Bell Choir, income would be made available for programs of VCPC.

Educational Scholarships Fund (Est.1994)
To continue to encourage and support those interested in pursuing careers in field of ministry as seminary students and Christian Education students. Income would not be limited to seminary students or to Valley members. Scholarships would be available to any qualified applicant, providing outreach beyond our own congregation.

Isabel Snyder Rice Building and Maintenance Fund (Est. 2008)
In memory of Isabel Snyder Rice
Maintenance and upkeep of physical properties of VCPC. Disbursements to be used for projects not included in the church annual operating budget; e.g. replacement of parking lot surface, replacement of boiler and or air conditioning systems, updating telephone system and office equipment. Annual disbursements will be allowed to accumulate until project(s) is identified.

Donna L. and Floyd A. Carlson Educational Fund (Est. 1995) 
Gift from Donna L. Carlson, In memory of Floyd A. Carlson
To use income from fund for staff, individual members and congregational groups to pursue educational opportunities in the religious field such as seminary study, preparation for seminary, conferences, seminars and workshops. These projects shall enhance and support activities of the person(s) in the church as approved by the Endowment Fund Committee.

Rice Child Development Fund (Est. 1997)
Income from the fund to be used to support tuition expenses for low income families to enroll children in child care.

The Barbara J. Johnston Scholarship For The Theological Education of Women
(Est. 1999) Gift from Barbara Johnston
To provide financial support for women who are interested in pursuing ordination to the ministry of word and sacrament and who are strongly committed to inclusiveness and gender equality in all aspects of church life. Scholarship was established to provide support for older, non-traditional applicants and will be awarded in increments of $500. Contact Endowment Committee for more details.

Wendell K. Gilkerson Pipe Organ Maintenance Fund (Est. 2008)
In Memory of Wendell K. Gilkerson
To use the income to maintain, repair or enhance the Valley Community Presbyterian Church Pipe Organ that was installed in 2007.

Elizabeth V. Hnatko Hicks Congregational Life Fund (Est. 2008)
In Memory of Elizabeth V. Hnatko Hicks
To use the income from the fund to support congregational life within the church membership.  Support could include special event expenses, hardship assistance, equipment/supplies involved in congregational life activities. These projects shall enhance and support the congregational life of the individual, group, or entire congregation of the church. Potential support should be broadly interpreted by the Endowment Fund Committee and may be expected to be adjusted to the ever-changing needs of the local church community.

JacLyn Sawnson Monroe Sicora Bodette Children's Ministry Fund (Est. 2009)
In memory of JacLyn Bodette
The income of this fund will be used to enchance the Children's Ministry Program at Valley Community Presbyterian Church. The Session and the Children's Ministry Committee can use the monies of the fund for special summer programs, Sunday morning classes or children fellowship events. These monies are designated for Valley's children, but with session approval may include all of God's children.
